The Faculty Center is excited to welcome new faculty to éÙ×ÓÊÓÆµ. At our annual New Faculty Orientation, we look forward to sharing how the Faculty Center and other areas across Georgia Southern support faculty in developing their professional growth, achieving excellence and discovering their community. Multiple activities for new faculty are offered during New Faculty Orientation.
Participants will experience a warm welcome to the GS culture and be able to identify resources and departments at GS that support faculty expectations of teaching, research, service and student success.

Faculty Professional Development Day
The Faculty Center Professional Development Days (PD Days) are scheduled twice during the academic year, Fall and Spring semesters. Topics covered are pertinent to faculty’s professional growth, promotion, retention, teaching, and student success. (Optional) Teaching and Learning Essentials Workshop
Teaching and Learning Essentials (Optional) is a 1-day workshop that will explore the science of learning and how this influences effective teaching practices. The workshop is appropriate for anyone interested in finessing their teaching techniques, but will be particularly useful for faculty in their first years of teaching.
